Recently, a study was conducted analyzing 29 men who had been diagnosed with idiopathic osteoporosis, ranging from 27-62 years of age. Each man was placed on Human Growth Hormone replacement therapy. Over the course of the treatment, each man’s bone turnover, bone mineral content, bone size, and bone mineral density were all extensively examined.
The patients were randomly split into two treatment groups, group A and group B. Group A was the continuous treatment group, consisting of 14 members, given daily injections of .4mg of growth hormone. Group B, consisting of 15 members, was given .8 mg of growth hormone for 14 days, every 3 months. Groups A and B were treated for 24 months, with a 12 month follow-up, and took 500mg of calcium and 400 U of vitamin D3 daily for the 36 months.
Body composition, bone mineral density, and bone mineral content were indicated by x-ray and dual energy, every 6 months. After 24 months, group A participants experienced a 4.1% increase in bone mineral density in the lumbar spine, and a 2.6% increase in total body. Group B experienced a 2.7% increase in total body bone density. In both treatment groups, bone mineral content of total and lean body mass increased while fat mass decreased.
The study proved that after 36 months, the bone mineral content and bone mineral density continued to increase in the lumbar spine and total body. Conclusively, a 2-year continuous or intermittent HGH treatment in men with idiopathic osteoporosis can enjoy an increase in bone mineral density and bone mineral content for up to one year following treatment.
Testosterone is the main sex hormone found in men. It’s produced in the gonads and is responsible for the development of secondary sex characteristics. Testosterone helps maintain bone density, sex drive, sperm count, the production of red blood cells, fat distribution, as well as muscle mass and strength.
A man’s testosterone level peaks during adolescence. The body begins to produce less testosterone around the age of 40. For most men, testosterone levels decline modestly.
A testosterone test examines the amount of hormone found in your body, and helps determine if you are testosterone deficient.
The following conditions can be linked to testosterone deficiency; if you are experiencing any of these problems we recommend that you get tested.
- Having a hard time fathering a child. (Low sperm count can be the result of low testosterone)
- Experiencing sexual dysfunction. (Low testosterone decreases a man’s sex drive and erectile function)
- Diagnosed with Osteoporosis.
- Disorder of the hypothalamus or pituitary.
- Mood changes, depression, and memory loss.
- Increase in fat mass.
- Decreased muscle mass, lack of body hair, and the development of breast tissue.
It is important to understand that some men who are experiencing these problems may not be suffering from unusually low levels of testosterone. Other men who have low testosterone levels may not experience any symptoms or signs that would motivate them to get tested.
Here at The Best Program, Dr. Fisher recommends that all men, age 35 and older, should have their testosterone levels tested. If the test results show that you are suffering from a deficiency, Dr. Fisher will develop a unique testosterone therapy program for your body that will steadily increase your testosterone levels until you are back at a healthy, youthful, optimal level.
So, get tested today! Be the BEST you can be and Live Life Young!

Hormone Imbalance? Delay Aging and Enhance Muscles with HGH.
March 23, 2009
The pituitary gland naturally produces the Human Growth Hormone, HGH. Its chief responsibility is the growth of bone mass and lean muscles. The insulin-like growth factor, IGF-1, is closely related to the human growth hormone. IGF-1 is important for the reparation of damaged cells and also the production of new cells. The more insulin-like growth factor a human body is producing, the more human growth hormone will be found in the body.
As we age, our pituitary glands subsequently produce less of the healing hormone IGF-1. Due to this reduction, our bodies’ ability to repair damaged cells is lowered. The result: the mental and physical aging process.
Aging causes the natural decrease in growth hormone levels. Individuals aged 60 or older, have HGH levels that are approximately half of that found in young adults in their mid-20’s. The age-related decreases in muscle mass, strength, and lipolysis can be attributed to this reduction in growth hormone levels.
Some effects of HGH decline include:
*7%- 25% increase in body fat, while lean body mass declines in a similar way
*Reduction in long bone density and spinal bone density, with a noticeable decrease in muscle mass and strength
* 30 to 50 pounds of weight gain
*Additionally, there are adverse effects on cholesterol; triglyceride levels rise, while ‘good cholesterol’ (high density cholesterol (HDL)), decreases
* Increased risk of cardiovascular disease
*Anxiety, social isolation, depression, lack of concentration, and loss of energy
Very few adverse effects are experienced from Human Growth Hormone Replacement Therapy, because it is naturally produced in the body. These side effects only occur in a small percentage of patients, and are easily reversed. They include: joint pain or joint swelling, insulin resistance, and fluid retention. Although results vary with each unique case, typically patients can expect to see results within three to six months of receiving Human Growth Hormone Treatment.
If you are age 40 or older, or younger than 40, but experiencing symptoms of hormone loss, The BEST Program, suggests that you have your Human Growth Hormone levels checked. Address health risks before they become a problem, prevent illness, and optimize your health. Take an active role in living life young, and contact the Best Program Today.

Want to look healthy and handsome with your libido powered ON! Thought so…. Simply by adding a couple of servings a week of the following foods, you are well on your way to living well, and looking good.
Greens & Beans
Recently, researchers have conducted a study on the diets of 400 elderly men and women in Sweden, Indonesia, and Australia. They found that those with the fewest wrinkles ate the most leafy green vegetables and beans. Beans and greens, such as spinach, are loaded with compounds that not only help prevent, but also repair the wear and tear on your skin cells as you age.
Sunflower Seeds
Sunflower seeds have the highest natural vitamin E content of any food. Vitamin E is an essential nutrient for looking younger. “No antioxidant is more effective at fighting the aging effects of free radicals,” says Barry Swanson, Ph.D., a professor of food science at Washington State University.
Sweet Potatoes
Overexposed to the sun?? This is one of the leading reasons men age prematurely. But, sweet potatoes may help to fight sun damage. Pigments found in beta-carotene rich foods, such as carrots and sweet potatoes can build up in your skin, helping to fight and prevent damage from ultraviolet rays.
Cheese
Cheese is one of the best foods you can eat for your choppers. It’s a wonderful source of calcium and keeps your teeth and bones strong. Eating cheese lowers the levels of bacteria in your mouth, keeping your teeth clean and cavity-free! Doctors recommend eating at least two servings of block cheese every week.
Grape Juice
“Grapes are filled with antioxidant polyphenols that keep your skin flexible and elastic,” says Swanson. They not only keep your skin from sagging, but also provide protection from strokes and heart attacks.
Having a diet that incorporates these five foods, can get you looking and feeling your BEST!

Omega 3: Ease Your Symptoms Of Menopause!
March 20, 2009
Omega 3 fatty acids — are an amazing anti-aging supplement!
Studies have shown that Omega 3 fatty acid supplements, which contain eicosapentaenoic* acid (EPA) from fish oil, are effective in treating the disruptive and irritating symptoms of perimenopause and menopause that you may be experiencing. These symptoms can range from psychological distress and depression, to mood swings, anxiety attacks, and hot flashes. This supplement has also been found to reduce the risk of heart attack, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.
Recently, a study was conducted by Dr. Michael Lucas, where 120 women, ages 40-55 were divided into two groups. The first group was instructed to take three Omega 3 capsules containing EPA, totaling one gram per day, every day for 8 weeks. The other group followed the same rules, but instead ingested placebo capsules containing sunflower oil without the EPA.
THE RESULTS: The study indicated that after the eight-week period, the condition of women who were suffering symptoms of psychological distress and mild depression improved significantly after consuming Omega 3s. Also, women with hot flashes noted that their condition improved by an average of 1.5 occurrences per day.
*Eicosapentaenoic acid is typically available in a gel capsule combined with DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), another Omega 3 fatty acid. Omega 3 fatty acid supplements are readily available in pharmacies, health food stores, grocery stores, and online.
Here at the Best Program, Dr. Fisher also recommends 3 servings of Salmon weekly, as a great source of Omega 3s. And believe it or not, Lamb is the richest meat source of Omega 3s and has the richest source of carnitine!
It’s been proven that Omega 3s and other age management supplements, coupled with Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, can help reduce the symptoms of menopause. To watch videos on menopause relief and to take a free online test, visit: http://www.thebestprogram.net/menopause.php
It begins with a hunch. You don’t have the energy that you used to have. You want to go to the gym, but it’s just too much to visualize getting into the car and driving all the way there. On the days you do actually make it to the gym, you’re out of steam before you even begin your workout. Your sex life is different…boring, or non-existent; and your husband or wife, boyfriend or girlfriend is starting to vocalize their concerns. You’ve gained weight in all of the areas that you don’t want it, and have lost muscle mass in the areas that you do.
It’s not entirely age related. There are instances where both men and women experience a severe hormone deficiency at a relatively young age. Typically, hormone deficiency is age related. By the age of 35 for men and 40 for women, our bodies begin to produce progressively less and less hormones. The effects can impact your life and the lives of those close to you. So what do you do if you think that you’re hormone deficient? I’ve created a free online test for men and women who think they might have a hormone deficiency.
Click this link or drop it into your browser window: http://www.thebestprogram.net , fill out the form on the right side of the page and take the test. It’s that simple, and it’s the first step in finding out if you have a hormone deficiency.
What results should you expect from hormone replacement therapy? See what some of my patients responded to my last post:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEU4Jl_h4CM ”
“At the ripe old age of 58, I’ve tried diet, exercise, high dosages of daily vitamins and multiple visits to various doctors. I battled weight gain, diabetes, high cholesterol and triglycerides. Not only was the insidious onslaught of old age doing me in, but the associated disease entities were winning the war against my health and vitality. Since starting The Best Program with Dr. Fisher, my blood sugar has returned to normal, by cholesterol and triglycerides are now normal, and my energy level has increased. As an added bonus, my sex life has greatly improved and I seem to have more drive and motivation in work and sports. My wife and I thank you, Dr. Fisher”
**I’d be happy to answer any questions regarding hormone replacement therapy to anyone who happens to read this blog. Feel free to post a question and i’ll do my best to respond as soon as possible.

When Will Anti-Aging Become Mainstream Medicine?
August 14, 2008
Hello,
This is Dr. Fisher with The BEST Program, owner and medical director for the premier anti-aging clinic located in South Florida. I wanted to begin my blogging career by discussing a relatively large reason why hormone replacement therapy has been looked down upon in the past, but more importantly, why it is so important for our future.
A large percentage of the general public buys in to the misconception that hormone replacement therapy is bad for your health. This misconception is largely due to a study that was conducted on menopausal women back in 2002. The researchers published that the study was terminated due to an increase of invasive breast cancer and coronary artery disease thought to be caused by the hormone replacement therapy that was administered. What they neglected to report was that the women in the study were given synthetic hormones rather than bioidentical hormones.
Bioidentical hormones are hormones that the human body recognizes as being their own. With bioidentical hormones, our bodies are given natural hormones with greater bio-availability, meaning that our hormone receptors will benefit from the high-normal hormone levels, without the risk of irreversible side effects. The result? Better health (improved lipid profile, decreased cardiovascular risks, improved immune system), better energy, improved libido and performance, faster fat burn, and improved metabolic function.
I feel that it is the responsibility of anti-aging physicians to set the record straight by providing the public with ample case studies to exemplify how BHRT can improve an aging man or woman’s health and quality of life. It’s a shame that this preventative maintenance approach to healthcare hasn’t caught on yet in mainstream medicine. I’ve been practicing BHRT for over nine years, and the results I’ve seen in my patients have been astounding. And I must report that now, nine years later, they are healthier, happier, and feel closer to youth than when they began the program. Since this is my first post and many might not know me from Adam, I’d also like it to be known that I practice what I preach. I have been on a BHRT program for over nine years myself. My only regret is that I didn’t start at a younger age than 48. I feel like I missed out on a good portion of my life due to lack of energy and my personal struggle with controlling my weight.
I’m sure that our readers are aware of the fact that “mainstream” thought governs what is considered “right” and “wrong.” I would like to do my part by (trying) to get some of my patients to share their experience with bioidentical hormone replacement therapy at The BEST Program. The more positive experiences that the masses can refer to, the more accepted and available BHRT will become for men and women in need. I know my patients are all busy people, but if you don’t mind, could you please write a couple lines about your personal experience on BHRT at The BEST Program in the comments box below this post? Even if you’re not a BEST program patient, but you’re currently on BHRT, please feel free to share your experience with the rest of the class! Thanks. You’re The BEST!
